SOCIAL MEDIA- THE WORLD OF COMPARISON

Let me start this writing by telling my story of getting drowned into the world of social media. When I was into the middle of teenage, probably at15 or 16 age (I’m 20 now). There was no comparison into my thought process. I was always chill kind of guy. I was on social media already but the basic difference was how much time I was pouring. But as of now, when I got into college, but friend circle got initially bigger. So to be in contact with my old school friends, or other friends I was using each and every social media platform [Fb, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.(end of thinking capacity…haha)] initially it was fun but during this lockdown period of almost 8–9 months and its still going on it was increased too much…

Day and night, every time I was using social media; sharing memes and laughing. Not only this. But also people were posting pics on Instagram , or making streaks on snapchat regarding daily on going activity they were doing and making their friends aware that see how much fun I’m having you poor people…..hahaha…Just kidding

But you know what, these social media is literally based on the idea of status or showoff (the word we commonly use). How much they are achieving in their life. B’day parties, Vacations, partying with friends, and many more.

But you know what these things puts a lot of pressure on under achieving people, who are not able to unleash their potential. And one most important reason that they are not able to unleash is because they are busy in visualizing other people’s lives. They are busy in watching the fames and achievement of their friends, cousins, seniors, Juniors, celebrities and who are not involved in this list.

Buying an expensive smartphone on EMI (iPhone) and posting pics on social media just to make other people jealous of them. And one other factor which I have observed is respect they want from people by doing such activities.

I can elaborate this topic by giving more examples but basically I want to say is people want to show their Enjoying life ( even though it’s not that much interesting going on) STATUS, FAME, MONEY, COOL LOOKS and what not.

I have to conclude now because I though of writing a short article but my thoughts and imagination has already been stretched. So What’s the solution of getting yourself out of this Fantasy world?

Simple answer is reducing the usage of social media platforms. Make yourself involved into reading or learning about new things. playing outdoor games. Improving yourself and putting your achievement on social media….So that you came out of this fantasy world but putting others into them…hahaha

I mean seriously , why you always have to be a content consumer? Why can’t you acquire the position of content creator?

Involve yourself into activities like Physical training, Bodybuilding, Public speaking, participating in competitions and posting on achievements on social media as your friends and others were doing. My point is you don’t have to get out of the ring. You have to be into the ring but this time in more powerful position and daily stepping towards becoming a best version of yourself. With this sentence I rest my case.

Thank You

Regards
